I hereby certify that the above particulars are correct and I agree to conform and be bound by the By-Laws and Regulations as printed in the schedule for the Northam Agricultural Show and make these entries subject to such By-Laws and regulations and to the Uniform By-Laws made under the Royal Agricultural Society 1926. All exhibits must be the work of one person and exhibited in that person’s name. One form per person & this form can be photocopied.

Prizes are offered subject to the following Regulations & By-Laws.
1. The grounds will be open to the public from 5pm -9pm Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturday.
2. The time of judging is listed and exhibitors are required to ensure that exhibits are in place by the stated time.
ADMISSION (No Ground Pass Outs)
Members, on presentation of their tickets, will be admitted free to the ground. Tickets are transferable.
3. Members are entitled to 3 tickets for single membership and 6 tickets for family membership for entry to the Showgrounds. Anyone infringing
this rule will forfeit all privileges.
4. Adults – $10.00, Students – $5.00. Under School Age – Free.
5. Ring Events – exhibitors in Horses in Action and Breed Classes will be admitted to the grounds free on the ratio of one horse, one free entry per
6. No motor vehicle other than official cars or vehicles conveying exhibits to and from the Show will be admitted to the grounds.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
7. Entries must be forwarded to the Secretary for all sections by 4.00pm on the Wednesday of the week prior to the Show.
25 Members, except where otherwise stated, are allowed free general exhibition entries, to the value of $5.00.
26 Applications for commercial stands, machinery, etc. should be made to the Secretary, closing two weeks before the Show. Rent
for commercial stands will be assessed on the frontage at $20.00 per metre for a depth of approximately 7 metres outdoors. The Northam
Agricultural Society reserves the right to refuse an application at its discretion. Trade stands must remain trading until 4pm on the Saturday.
ARRANGEMENT OF EXHIBITS
27 The whole arrangement as to position, classification and grouping of exhibits shall be under the control of the Council.
28 All trophies must be arranged to the approval of the Council.
29 All exhibits, except where otherwise specified, must be on the ground by 8.30am on the Friday, or they will not be allowed to compete. This
dose not apply to Horses in Action, in which classes exhibits must be on the ground at least one hour before the advertised time of starting of
the event or competition in which they are entered.
30 Each entry must be the work of one person and be exhibited in that person’s name unless otherwise stated.
31 Exhibits of livestock may be forwarded to the Showgrounds as early as Friday prior to the Show, but shall be the responsibility of the exhibitor.
32 Exhibits in Horses (excepting Horses in Action), sheep, cattle and poultry Sections will be required on the grounds until 5.00pm on Saturday.
Exhibits in the pavilion will be required in the building until 5.00pm on Saturday.
CONTROL OF EXHIBITS
33 Exhibitors shall arrange their exhibits under the direction of the Stewards, and no exhibit shall afterwards be removed without the sanction of
the Stewards, under a penalty not exceeding $10.00. The Council shall have the power to retain the exhibits of any exhibitor so fined until such
fine is paid.
34 The owner or exhibitor of an exhibit or stand of exhibits disapproved of as an exhibit by the Council must immediately upon notice to that
affect remove such exhibitor stand or exhibit from the grounds.
35 Any exhibitor or attendant refusing to attach the prize card to an exhibit to which a prize has been awarded and failing to keep the same on
during the hours of exhibition, will, on proof thereof to the Council, forfeit all prizes awarded during the show, and may be disqualified from
again competing. The Council shall have the power to retain any or all exhibits until fines are paid.
36 One prize card only is issued for each prize won.
37 Exhibitors will render themselves liable to a penalty not exceeding $10.00 by removing any official place card, ticket or ribbon, or by refusing
in any way to carry out the instructions; and the Society shall incur no responsibility by enforcing these regulations.
38 The responsibility for the accuracy of the description of pedigree and for the eligibility to compete of all animals entered in the various classes
rests solely with the exhibitors.
DANGEROUS & DISEASED EXHIBITS
39 Should Council have any reason to suspect that any exhibit is dangerous or objectionable, it may have the same removed from or refused
admission to the grounds.
40 No stock shall be qualified to compete which has been declared by the Society veterinary inspector or inspectors during the show to be
suffering from any parasite or contagious or infectious disease.
41 Protests must be lodged immediately with the chief steward of the section. All protests must be accompanied by a deposit of $2.00 which shall
absolutely be forfeited to the Society if the protest, on due consideration, be deemed unfounded or frivolous. Protests received by the chief
stewards of the sections more than two hours after awarding will not be considered.
42 Any prize withheld in consequence of any valid protest shall be forfeited to the Society to be re-allocated at its discretion.
43 Should any exhibit, having gained a prize, be disqualified (either by protest or for any other reason) the next on the list does not necessarily
obtain a prize. The Council, with or without the advice of the judge, shall decide the question.
44 The judge will enter upon their duties on the day of the show specified, and judging will commence according to the published time table. Late
arrivals: Judges will wait 10 minutes and then commence their duties. Any arrivals after this may exhibit but not compete.
45 Award Sheet – the judge will complete the sheet supplied to them and sign and hand same to the stewards.
46 In the event of there being no competition in any class; prizes may be given if the judges certify to particular merit; but they are specifically
requested to withhold prizes, even where there is competition, if the exhibits are of inferior description or are not suitable for the class in which
they are competing; they may award a second or third prize instead of a first or may divide the prizes.
47 Every reasonable care will be taken of exhibits but no responsibility will be incurred by the Society. Ordinary precaution will be taken to
guard against fire and to protect the property of the Society and the exhibitors, but exhibits will not be insured at the cost of the Society.
48 The Society will not be responsible for any accident that may be caused through or by any exhibit or exhibitor, and it shall be a condition of the
entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Society blameless and indemnified against legal proceedings arising from any such accident.
